It's 2010!

A popular topic on twitter this week has been #10yearsago. In light of the new year, millions of twitter users reflected upon who they were, where they were up to, and what their interests were 10 years ago. With BCC celebrating its 7th birthday this year, it's amazing to think that 10 years ago, BCC didn't even exist and now we're over 400 strong and have traveled the world and made a name for ourselves as a musically excellent and socially impactful organization. Pretty cool! This year's annual report is available exclusively online and is a great look into how far we've come.

We really are starting off 2010 with a bang -- these next two months will be BCC's busiest to date. Premier and Young Men's will spend the first weekend of 2010 with From the Top, taping a Martin Luther King jr. special at Bethel AME that's scheduled to air on WBUR 87.9 FM on January 9th at 11am, January 10th at 6pm, and at times to be announced on January 18th and MLK jr day. BCC will also be celebrating MLK at Temple Israel, Concord Carlisle Middle School, YES! Boston, and with our signature Annual Martin Luther King Jr. "From A Child's Mind" at Jordan Hall on the 19th at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. If you instead find yourself at home on the 19th, tune in to Channel 5 for a MLK special, featuring BCC.

Only a few weeks after MLK day, Premier Choir heads off to Philadelphia to perform at American Choral Director's Association regional conference, a huge honor. Meanwhile, Premier will also be rehearsing to perform in the World Premiere of "Madame White Snake", a modern opera, with Opera Boston. Performing in the Opera will require singers to commit to a professional's rehearsal schedule for the month of February which will be hard work, but singers are very much looking forward to being apart of a fully-staged production.

With the first two month's looking like that, it's safe to say this year is going to be a big one! Happy 2010 to all!
